When you're thirsty, your body is asking for water. Not for sugar dressed up as hydration. Switching to spring water is the simplest, most underrated dietary change most people can make.
Thirst is one of the body's most reliable signals. It means you need water. It does not mean you need a sports drink, a fruit juice, a sweetened iced tea, a soda, or any of the other beverages the beverage industry has positioned as 'hydration.' Those beverages contain water, but they also contain sugar — and the sugar arrives faster than the water can hydrate you.
The single highest-leverage dietary change most people can make is to drink more water and less of everything else. The math is simple.
